Key Impact
Zero-install browser AR accessibility bringing historical artifacts directly to modern mobile and desktop screens.
Project Overview
Nusantara AR democratizes cultural heritage education through zero-installation browser augmented reality. Users can explore high-fidelity 3D models of Indonesian historical artifacts, architectural monuments, and traditional heirlooms directly from any modern mobile browser or desktop, inspecting fine craft details with interactive lighting and spatial positioning.
Technical Challenges
- 1Balancing high-fidelity visual detail of cultural artifacts with mobile browser memory and GPU limits.
- 2Inconsistent WebXR support across various Android and iOS browser versions.
Engineered Solutions
- 1Aggressively optimized GLTF/GLB geometry and baked lighting textures to minimize draw calls.
- 2Implemented universal fallback viewers using WebGL canvas when device-native AR camera sessions are not supported.
“The WebAR experience created by Rajwaa Studio brought Indonesian heritage to life on mobile browsers without demanding app downloads.”
